Tour de France 2026: Route and stages

Tadej Pogacar leads the Tour de France ahead of Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel. Today, the riders head into the Alps for a stage finishing atop Plateau de Solaison, an 11.3-kilometre climb averaging 9% gradient. After the rest day, the Tour continues with an individual time trial, while La Grande Boucle reaches its climax next weekend with two back-to-back summit finishes in Alpe d'Huez.

Mulhouse - Le Markstein

Saturday, 18 July - Stage 14 of the Tour de France takes the riders through the Vosges Mountains. Starting in Mulhouse, the finish comes 155.3 kilometres later at the Le Markstein ski resort, roughly 6 kilometres after the last of seven climbs on the route.

Sunday, 19 July - Stage 15 of the Tour de France features around 4,700 metres of elevation gain across 184 kilometres, culminating in a gruelling 11.3-kilometre climb averaging 9.1%.

Tuesday, 21 July - The Tour de France’s final week kicks off with a 26-kilometre individual time trial. Starting and finishing by Lake Geneva, the course winds through the hills before plunging down to the shores. The route takes in around 500 metres of elevation gain.

Wednesday, 22 July - The Tour de France’s 17th stage is billed by ASO as a flat stage over 174.7 kilometres. Flat is a matter of perspective, as the route includes nearly 2,400 metres of climbing.

Route

The Tour de France serves up 54,450 metres of elevation gain over 3,321.2 kilometres. The Pyrenees feature in the opening week, while the Massif Central, the Vosges and the Alps also deliver significant climbing challenges over the course of the race. The final weekend includes two back-to-back summit finishes at Alpe d’Huez.
